This is not legal advice. This Cookie Policy explains how PiksAlt uses cookies and browser storage in the Shopify embedded app.
Overview
PiksAlt does not use first-party tracking cookies.
We do not place cookies to track merchants across websites, measure advertising performance, build marketing profiles, or sell behavioral data.
PiksAlt may use browser session storage for Shopify App Bridge token caching. This is a technical necessity for the embedded Shopify app to work during an active session. It is not used for tracking.
PiksAlt processes app data needed to provide automated SEO features for Shopify product images, including product titles, product types, tags, image URLs on cdn.shopify.com, shop domain, webhook metadata, audit logs, and encrypted offline access tokens. Image bytes are transient only and are never persisted. Payment information is handled by Shopify, not PiksAlt.
Third-party cookies
PiksAlt does not set third-party cookies.
Because PiksAlt runs inside the Shopify embedded app environment, the Shopify iframe or Shopify admin may set its own technical cookies or use its own storage. Those cookies are controlled by Shopify and governed by Shopify's policies.
PiksAlt's subprocessors may help operate the service, including providers for AI inference, database storage, content delivery, and infrastructure hosting. PiksAlt does not use these providers to set tracking cookies through the app.
How to opt out
Opt out is not applicable because PiksAlt does not use tracking cookies.
Merchants may clear browser cookies, cache, and session storage at any time through their browser settings. Clearing browser storage may sign you out of Shopify or require the embedded app to refresh its session.
You can also uninstall PiksAlt from your Shopify admin if you no longer want the app to process store data. PiksAlt supports Shopify privacy webhooks for customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact, with deletion completed within 7 days where applicable.
Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies, browser storage, or related technologies changes.
If we make a material change, we will provide 30 days notice through an in-app banner.
