PiksAlt Terms of Service

This is not legal advice. These Terms of Service govern your use of PiksAlt, a Shopify App Store SaaS operated by a United States sole proprietor. By installing, accessing, or using PiksAlt, you agree to these Terms.
Acceptance
By installing PiksAlt from the Shopify App Store, you accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and the Shopify store you connect to the app.
If you install or use PiksAlt for a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use PiksAlt.
Service description
PiksAlt is an automated SEO app for Shopify merchants. It generates:
- Alt text for Shopify product images
- Schema.org JSON-LD for Shopify product images
PiksAlt uses a third-party AI vision service to analyze product image URLs and related product data. PiksAlt may process product titles, product types, tags, and image URLs hosted on cdn.shopify.com.
PiksAlt does not guarantee search rankings, traffic gains, sales increases, indexing by search engines, or accessibility compliance. Search engines, marketplaces, assistive technologies, and regulators may interpret content in different ways. You are responsible for reviewing all generated output before relying on it.
PiksAlt does not persist image bytes. Image bytes may be processed transiently to provide the service, but they are not stored by PiksAlt.
Subscription and billing
PiksAlt offers the following plans:
- Free: 30 images, lifetime trial allowance (no monthly refill; upgrade to keep generating)
- Starter: $7.99 per month, 600 images per month
- Pro: $24.99 per month, 6,500 images per month cap
Billing is handled through the Shopify Billing API. Shopify is the merchant of record. PiksAlt does not collect or store your payment card details or payment account information.
You may cancel your subscription through your Shopify admin. Cancellation stops future billing according to Shopify’s billing process. PiksAlt does not provide partial-month refunds.
Usage quotas reset monthly. If you reach your plan quota, processing may stop until your quota resets or you change plans.
Acceptable use
You agree to use PiksAlt only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm PiksAlt, Shopify, other merchants, or third parties.
You represent and warrant that:
- You have the rights needed to use the product images, product titles, product types, tags, and related store content submitted to PiksAlt
- Your content does not infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights
- Your content is not unlawful, deceptive, harmful, or abusive
- You will not use PiksAlt to generate misleading metadata or structured data
- You will not attempt to bypass quotas, security controls, access restrictions, or billing flows
PiksAlt may suspend or limit access if we believe your use violates these Terms or creates risk for the service.
AI output disclaimer
PiksAlt uses a third-party AI model to generate alt text and Schema.org JSON-LD. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, duplicated, or unsuitable for your products.
You are responsible for reviewing, editing, approving, publishing, or removing generated output. Do not rely on PiksAlt as the sole source of truth for product descriptions, accessibility obligations, structured data, legal claims, or marketing claims.
PiksAlt does not promise that AI output will meet the requirements of search engines, accessibility laws, platform rules, or industry standards.
Accessibility note
PiksAlt aims to produce alt text that is aligned with WCAG 2.2 principles. This means the app attempts to generate useful text alternatives for product images.
PiksAlt does not guarantee compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the European Accessibility Act, WCAG 2.2, or any other accessibility law, rule, or standard. Accessibility depends on your full storefront, theme, content, apps, images, code, and business context.
You remain responsible for reviewing accessibility output and seeking qualified advice where needed.
Warranties
PiksAlt is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.”
To the fullest extent allowed by law, PiksAlt disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, security, and accuracy.
PiksAlt does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from data loss. PiksAlt does not warrant that generated alt text or Schema.org JSON-LD will be correct, accepted by search engines, or suitable for your store.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, PiksAlt will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. This includes lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, reputational harm, or loss of goodwill.
PiksAlt’s total liability for any claim related to the service or these Terms is capped at the lesser of:
- The fees you paid to PiksAlt during the 12 months before the claim arose
- USD 100
This limit applies regardless of the legal theory, including contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or other theory.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PiksAlt and its operator from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:
- Your Shopify store content
- Your product images, product titles, product types, tags, or related data
- Your use of generated alt text or Schema.org JSON-LD
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your violation of law or third-party rights
PiksAlt may control the defense of any matter subject to indemnification. You agree to cooperate with that defense.
Term and termination
PiksAlt subscriptions are month-to-month unless stated otherwise in Shopify billing.
You may stop using PiksAlt and cancel through your Shopify admin at any time. PiksAlt may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, breach of these Terms, security risk, misuse, or legal risk.
After uninstall or termination, PiksAlt will process deletion requests through Shopify privacy webhooks, including customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact. PiksAlt targets deletion within 7 days where required by those webhook flows.
PiksAlt may retain limited audit logs or security records where needed to protect the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce these Terms.
Changes to terms
PiksAlt may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, PiksAlt will provide 30 days notice through an in-app banner.
Your continued use of PiksAlt after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using PiksAlt and cancel through your Shopify admin.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the laws of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or PiksAlt will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, except where applicable law does not allow arbitration. You and PiksAlt waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, collective action, or representative action.
Disputes must be brought only on an individual basis.
